Introducing flexo printers for non-woven converting applications
Pine Brook, NJ - Bell-Mark introduces the custom designed series 1234/1834 single color flexographic printer to the non-woven industry.
This unit is well suited to the non-woven market. Since many specifications call for a narrow width print, the 4" wide flexo is ideal. It is especially cost effective when compared to the expensive press time of a wide web flexo. The sturdy 3 frame design creates a stable, vibration free operation. The unit mounts easily for use with horizontal or vertical bidirectional web flow and the bracketry can be customized. This simple yet versatile design eliminates the cost of preprinted film inventories.
Features of the series #1234/1834 include friction drive/direct drive, a fountain designed to accept an ink pump, chrome plated engraved anilox roll for precise ink distribution, 4", 8" and 10" width, a 12" or 18" repeat and speeds up to 375 FPM. Bell-Mark also manufactures a full line of inks, including alcohol based, water based and pigment inks, and air operated and electric recirculating ink pumps with automatic viscosity controls.
Applications include industrial barrier garments, hospital drape cloth, gaskets, filters, disposable headrest and pillow covers, wet wipes, industrial and consumer wipes, hospital diapers, roofing sheathing material and medical gauze.
The 1234/1834 also offers our enclosed doctor blade ink system. This system provides the highest quality print of any narrow web printer with speeds to 500 FPM. The enclosed system eliminates press speed limitation, fugitive emissions, foaming with water-based inks, slinging and cell starvation.
By design, approximately a ½ ounce of fluid is all that is needed to fill each inch of cavity length, resulting in considerably less fluid waste during clean up compared to a typical fountain pan system.
Bell-Mark is a worldwide leader in the design and manufacture of innovative in-line coding and printing machinery. For over 45 years, Bell-Mark has been designing solutions for package printing applications in the meat, medical device, pharmaceutical, prepared foods, bakery, dairy and poultry packaging industries. Bell-Mark offers many in-line printing technologies including thermal transfer, flexographic, reciprocating ink coders, and inkjet, all of which satisfy requirements to print bar codes, lot/exp codes, date codes, graphics and variable data directly onto packaging substrates.
